Position Overview

As a Stanley Industrial Designer you help drive design and innovation within and across our product categories. You are responsible for generating a variety of products in the pursuit of our mission to revolutionize the way people enjoy food and beverage everywhere. You will work in an energized, fun, and well-equipped work environment that fosters creativity, open communication, and professional growth.

You'll:

  • Collaborate with senior designers, clients, business and functional groups to design and develop new products through strategic thinking and process
  • Advocate for aspects of a product design that relate most directly to end-user characteristics, needs and interests
  • Work closely with product management, engineering and customers to design solutions that meet end user needs while satisfying product requirements
  • Create documentation necessary to convey design intent to various audiences
  • Make strategic design decisions and recommendations for projects by consulting with design leadership, product management and business groups.
  • Implement and Organize design activities around schedules and project goals
  • Champion & contribute to the company's efforts toward design for sustainability
  • Represent & promote a culture of creativity and design within PMI while exhibiting overall corporate values
  • Assists in the pursuit of design and utility patents by submitting invention records and actively supporting I.P. efforts

As the Industrial Desginer we ask that you bring:

  • Strong Sketching and conceptualization skills
  • Strong verbal, written and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and professionally
  • Excellent analytical ability with a passion for product development
  • Skilled at prioritizing tasks and managing timelines
  • Ability to work accurately with close attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal skills at working effectively with individuals and large groups (internal and external) at all organizational levels
  • Habit of taking the initiative and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Able to effectively utilize appropriate management reporting tools to ensure attainment of all product category objectives
  • Respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Solid knowledge of Design for Manufacturability methods
  • Knowledge of product manufacturing including: plastic injection molding, metal forming, CMF techniques

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Industrial Design
  • 4+ years of experience as a practicing designer with a focus on product design
  • Experience with CAD package - Solidworks (preferred) , Keyshot (preferred) or other rendering software, Illustrator, Photoshop
  • Relevant experience managing, working with, and presenting to clients
  • Direct experience communicating directly with engineers & factories (Asian factories Preferred)
